"ATOL was a delight to work with, even across timezones. We picked ATOL after attending an event at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC where it became clear to us that Australia was on the right path with respect to AI regulation. It just made sense."

About Fusion Collective

Fusion Collective is an IT-focused consultancy specialising in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. Working with organisations globally, they combine deep technical expertise with a tailored, client-focused approach to solve complex business challenges.

With a focus on innovation and AI-led solutions, Fusion Collective supports organisations in aligning technology, processes, and people to deliver measurable outcomes and long-term growth. Their approach blends strategic thinking with practical execution, helping clients turn ambitious ideas into real-world results.

The Challenge

As an IT-focused consultancy working in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, Fusion Collective operates in a space where standards, regulation, and client expectations are evolving rapidly, particularly as organisations look to adopt AI technologies in a structured, responsible way. With growing interest in frameworks such as ISO 42001 and ISO 27001, the team recognised the need to strengthen their capability to engage with these standards from an audit perspective.

With three managing partners, Fusion Collective wanted to build internal capability by achieving Lead Auditor certification at a leadership level. This required a training approach that could accommodate busy schedules, work across time zones, and deliver a consistent learning experience without disrupting client commitments.

At the same time, Fusion Collective was looking to strengthen its position in the market by developing deeper expertise in AI governance and compliance. Building this capability was not only about knowledge, but also about credibility, allowing the team to engage more confidently with clients and explore new service opportunities.

The Solution

Fusion Collective partnered with ATOL to deliver flexible training that supports Lead Auditor certification across their leadership team. With a focus on ISO 42001, the training provided a structured and practical pathway for building audit capability in a rapidly evolving area.

ATOL worked closely with the team to identify the most effective approach, accommodating scheduling needs and time zone differences to ensure all three managing partners could complete the training. The flexible delivery model allowed Fusion Collective to progress without disrupting client work, while maintaining a consistent learning experience.

Through this approach, Fusion Collective has been able to build foundational audit capability aligned to AI governance standards, supporting both internal development and their broader strategic goals.

The Results

Since completing the training, Fusion Collective has strengthened its ability to engage with ISO 42001 from an audit perspective. This has supported more confident client conversations and positioned the team to explore new opportunities in AI governance and compliance.

The Lead Auditor certification has also contributed to increased credibility when discussing projects with clients. Being able to approach ISO 42001 with a recognised audit framework has helped elevate Fusion Collective’s authority in this emerging space.

Beyond capability, the training has opened additional avenues to create value and generate revenue, supporting the firm’s broader growth objectives as it continues to build expertise in AI and related standards.

“ATOL was a delight to work with, even across timezones. Becoming Lead Auditors has been a real ‘street cred’ investment for us, allowing us to engage with clients from a more authoritative perspective.”
